Bleached Knots
Here are a few shots after I bleached the knots. The images are a little deceptive, as the fabric of the head block underneath is showing through, but the lace actually disappears quite well against skin. Some of the darker knots are still slightly visible, but I didn't want to over bleach and have them turn crisp and yellow. I'm pretty happy with this...

What I'm not happy with are the returns - small pieces of hair sticking up from the hairpiece. These are the short ends that occur when you knot the hair onto the lace. I was trying not to make them too long, because since they are part of the hair doubled back on itself, the cuticle will be running in the wrong direction. I was worried that this would cause the hair to tangle, but I don't think it will be an issue with short hair, especially once the piece is cut-in. In future I think I will leave the returns a bit longer so they blend more easily with the rest of the hair.
